Looking back on a memorable World Series
The 2014 World Series will surely be remembered for years to come. It featured the Kansas City Royals appearing in their first Series in 29 years after defeating the Oakland Athletics and the Baltimore Orioles, and the San Francisco Giants in their third Series in five seasons following wins over the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals. The Royals and Giants traded the series lead, and the Royals' 10-0 Game 6 win forced a Game 7, which the Giants ultimately won to end the Royals' otherwise magnificent season. It was one of the most competitive series in recent years, and even the parade in San Francisco on Friday was memorable in itself. So there was little to be disappointed about in this World Series.
