Microsoft has ended support of the operating system Windows XP. This means they will no longer be making things like updates and bug fixes for it.
Windows XP came out in October of 2001 and it was the most used operating system in the world for several years before being passed by Windows 7 a year and a half ago. I have used a lot of computers with Windows XP but now that I have a laptop with Windows 7 I have been using that a lot more now.
There are three newer versions of Windows after XP (Vista, 7 and 8) so people who still have XP will probably start upgrading to one of those versions of Windows. But some people still like XP and will probably continue to use it even though it's 12 and a half years old.
