Maryland Day

Good to be back in the NCAA torunament

My Maryland Terrapins were back in the NCAA basketball tournament for the first time in five years and it was good while it lasted. We only made it to the round of 32 but we did win one game.

Spring is here - now will the snow leave?

Internet Explorer name to be retired

Microsoft has said that their new Spartan web browser project will be the replacement to their long-running, once widely-used browser Internet Explorer, which debuted in 1995 soon after the emergence of Windows 95. Spartan is expected to ship with the upcoming Windows 10, which will still support Internet Explorer, but possibly only the current version, IE11.

Pi day

Today is March 14, otherwise known as Pi Day (3.1415...) and this year it has added significance because the actual date is 3-14-15, the first five digits of the special number.

YouTube sinks to another new low

YouTube has decided to be like Twitter and display likes and dislikes greater than 999 with "K", the abbreviation for thousand, or "M" for million, at the end instead of the full number like they've done ever since they rolled out the like/dislike bar to replace the old star rating system in 2010.
