I have to go to work tomorrow and Sunday

Last week I was told that I worked Wednesday evening and Saturday (tomorrow) afternoon. Then I called to get my schedule for next week and I was told that I work on Sunday afternoon as well. Now I won't have time for anything else this weekend. Oh well, at least I get paid more for working two shifts per week.

Just an update

I couldn't think of anything specific to talk about for this post so I'm just going to say that my life has been crazy as usual. And I've been doing random stuff as usual. Maybe next time I'll actually have something to blog about.

Spring

So it's spring now but it still feels a bit like winter. We might even get one more round of snow in a few days! But still, I'm glad that winter is over and that warmer weather is on the way.

Some updates

Here is my first post in almost a week. I've been doing more work and a bunch of stuff on the internet as usual. We've got some more snow falling as I type this. And tomorrow is Saint Patrick's Day, which I am definitely not celebrating. So that's my update for this evening.

My car is having repairs

A couple of weeks ago, I ripped off a chunk of tire from my car by hitting a pothole on a gravel road. So today I drove it to a shop about 20 miles away and left it there and got driven home by a friend who arranged the whole thing. So now I have to be driven by someone else if I want to go anywhere for the next couple of days. I should have been more careful!

We set our clocks forward tonight

Tonight, it's time to "spring forward" by changing our clocks one hour later for the beginning of daylight saving time. No one really likes losing an hour from the day, but the positive side is that we're going to get that hour back in November. This also means that sunrise will be an hour later, but so will sunset. It all comes two weeks before winter ends and spring begins, which I am really looking forward to after all the snow and cold temperatures we've been having here!

I've spent too much time playing iPod games lately

I've been playing a lot of games on my iPod Touch during the past few days. But I could be doing more productive things. I really need to cut back on them because they are taking up a lot of my time!

Our latest snowstorm was smaller than predicted

It snowed here yesterday and the forecast was up to eight inches but we only got two. It was mostly freezing rain and ice. So it wasn't very bad at all. This could be our last real snow of the season.

Kevin Harvick wins at Phoenix again

Kevin Harvick won in Phoenix, Arizona yesterday in the second race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season. It was his first win with his new team, Stewart Haas Racing, after thirteen years with Richard Childress Racing. Harvick led 224 of the race's 312 laps. Last week's Daytona winner Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished second but did not lead any laps.

This is Harvick's fifth Cup win at Phoenix, his second straight and third in the last four races there. This is the second year in a row that a Hendrick Motorsports car has won the Daytona 500 and then finished second the following week, and the third Phoenix race in a row that a Hendrick car has finished second. The Sprint Cup Series heads to Las Vegas, Nevada next week.

It's March

We're now two months into 2014 and it's already been eventful for me. I hope things wind down a little this month. March will see us go from winter to spring which I am really looking forward to. But I hope it won't bee too crazy.
